Maui, Hawaii 2007 Monday
August 13th

Monday was pretty much a rest day. We went to the airport and picked up the MIA luggage, and had a nice breakfast at IHOP. We did some shopping for Hawaiian shirts, and drove around a lot to take in the sites. We also drove to Pa'ia, the town we were going to be driving to at 2:00 AM for our bicycle trip down Haleakala.

Baldwin Beach Park

We stopped at H. A. Baldwin Park Beach on our way back to the cottage, and played in the water. Since we had the retrieved luggage in the car, and tourists are strongly advised not to leave anything in their car at all, even in the trunk, we didn't stay and swim.

Back to the Studio

Went back to the cottage, and walked to the "beach" at the end of our street, and got our feet wet. Not exactly a sand beach, but it was "ocean", so it was just fine.

After a hard day of playing tourist, we found the hot tub to be just delightful. We had stopped at the local grocery store and stocked up on beverages.

The Mango tree outside our windows is a popular stop for the natives. It was impossible to keep the feeder full.

Dinner on Monday was at Denny's. Food was good, and all of the restaurants in Maui are open air.
