We rented these Honda scooters for the week from Key West Pirate Scooter Rentals, on Southard Street. We took a bus to get there, rented the scooters and then hit the road. First stop would be a tour of the USCGC Ingham.

As the sign indicates, we are touring the USCGC Ingham, built in 1936, launched at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. In the early years, she operated out of seattle patrolling the Bering Sea. In 1940, she was assigned to the Neutrality Patrol in the Atlantic. In 1941 she performed 31 Convoys in the North Atlantic and sank U-Boat 626, later performing convoys to the Mediterrarean and Africa. In 1944, she was reassigned to the Pacific and served as a command ship in the 7th Fleet. After WWII She later served in Vietnam earning her 2 Presidential Unit Citations. In 1985, Ingram became the oldest Active Duty and most decorated Naval vessel serving the United States. She was decommissioned in 1988 after 52 years of service.
